Web designer/ User experience volunteer
Mission: The mission of Youth Be Heard is for all youth to know they are valuable and worthy of being here. We do that by encouraging them to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through writing and art and giving them a safe platform to influence others.
Position: This position will have a large impact on how youth perceive, interact, and are impacted by YBH. Our organization rests on the website and its look, feel, and functionality are core to our ability to reach youth. When we have a post and image ready, we will send it to you to get it set up for publishing in WordPress to make it look finished and fabulous. We need someone with:
- A deep understanding of WordPress
- Knowledge of helpful plugins and ability to decipher what is worth it, and what is not.
- Be able to increase lead capture without being overbearing
- Improve user experience through interesting and dynamic layout
- Problem solve to improve functionality or help solve technical issues
- Commitment to following through on projects in a timely manner
- Ability to have a scheduled phone call with the executive director
- Ability to write CSS and HTML helpful but not required
- Other programming and coding experience helpful but not required
Setting/ Schedule: This is a work-from-home project-based position where the time commitment depends on the need for that project but is estimated at 2 hours per week.
