Inspiration: I wanted to write a scene of a screenplay that didn’t have any dialogue, using only setting and action descriptions to tell a story. I’ve always liked writing characters who are young children, and I also wanted to write about siblings- how they take care of each other and have fun together. I definitely struggled with not using dialogue, so I tried to establish the characters and the “conflict” of the scene early, and then let it unfold more through action.

I wanted to forge a reputable name, to create a story worth telling, one of value, but I could never trust my own ambition; I feared it lied to me or hastily endorsed me without proof. I wanted—I wanted so badly…

Men are born at the bottom of the mountain, impoverished and indigent; they are told to climb the cliffs and that they will die alone, unknown, unloved, cold, worthless, and honorless if they dare to stop for a breath above the tide of criticism, above the waves of ambitions – drowning. They are measured on how far they climb.

Inspiration: Drama pollutes the air around me, so I put it to words through the lens of my opinion. It may offend some – I don’t mean any offense at all – so just know that this is coming from a kid who is still learning and has much to learn.

I was an asthmatic child, prone to wheezing and walking instead of running laps around the gymnasium during P.E. I could never quite master the 10-minute mile and failed to have the hand-eye coordination required for most athletic endeavors. This combined with my propensity to stuff my nose in any book placed in front of me made me a book nerd.
