How I Became a Love Poet

I always wondered why so many poems were about love
Then one day I realized
Maybe it’s because all poets have met you
And like me–they never quite knew what to do with it
I wanted to capture the universality of love through the specificity of my personal feelings for someone. Love is felt differently by everyone but there’s still a fundamental quality about it that you only seem to notice when you feel it.
