One of my favorite subjects to explore in my art, especially in photography, is human beings. I find such vulnerability, intimacy, and authenticity in candid photography where the subject of the photograph is unknowingly susceptible to the lens that is capturing their existence in a moment in time. Back in my hometown, the place that conjures such subjects is downtown Richmond. As a music listener and collector of vinyls, naturally, my favorite spot is a record shop, Planet 9, which is located on the bustling street of Carytown. The subjects in the photograph are a couple on a date. I find pleasure and satisfaction in the instances when I am able to capture and highlight such sentimental, day-to-day moments that people experience.
