One Look

By Blanca Peña, 17

Breathed in,
Counted to three,
Looked up to the sky for a remedy,
Searched the stars for validation,
Turned to the cosmos for comfort,
And stared into the eyes of the moon,
Hoping one look,
Wouldn’t make me feel a hundred things anymore.

I push everything down and always wait until my feelings explode all over the place to face them, and when that happens things get and feel extremely messy. So I often turn to writing or nature or both for comfort.
